Transportation within the Oceana County is provided for all seniors through the bus transportation program. This program is available to all residents of the County. Seniors and the handicapped receive first priority in order to receive support services, reduce isolation and promote independent living. No senior will be denied transportation due to failure to donate towards transportation cost.
Please call (231) 873-4461 for more information or to schedule a ride. All call-ins to schedule a ride must be done at least 48 hours (2 days) in advance.
The OCCOA also provides volunteer driving transportation for seniors who need transportation to and from medical appointments outside of Oceana County. Those rides aren't provided by our busses and busdrivers, but by our volunteer drivers in their private cars. Please call (231) 873-4461 for more information or to schedule an Out-of-County transport. All call-ins to schedule a ride must be done at least 48 hours (2 days) in advance.
The normal cost for this service is $0.25 per mile. People with income at 150% of poverty level ($1,300/month single or $2,100/month couple) would be asked to pay $0.15 per mile.
