Transportation

Transportation within Oceana County is provided for all seniors through the bus transportation program. This program is available to all residents of the County. Seniors and the handicapped receive first priority in order to receive support services, reduce isolation and promote independent living. The OCCOA also provides volunteer driving transportation for seniors who need transportation to and from medical appointments outside of Oceana County.

Please call (231) 873-4461 for more information or to schedule a ride. All call-ins to schedule a ride must be done 48 hours (2 days) in advance.

Seeking for Volunteer Drivers

The OCCOA is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Drivers to transport seniors outside of Oceana County to their medical appointments. It is a great way to make some extra money and at the same time provide a service for those in need. Application are available at the Transportation office or online (see below).

Requirements

  • Reliable and safe car
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid car insurance
  • Over 18 years of age
  • You are a responsible, patient and caring person
