OCCOA is committed to ensuring that all individuals age 60 and older have access to necessary services. We offer a whirlpool bathing experience as well as an accessible shower to meet your needs. Those facilities are located at Our Friends House, and not inside our main Center.

Enjoyable whirlpool hydrotherapy provides a variety of therapeutic benefits, including increasing circulation and endorphin production which strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammation, heals injuries, improves well-being, and energizes the body. Hydrotherapy aides in the rehabilitation process of stroke victims and improves respiratory infections. It reduces pain from a variety of conditions, lowers blood pressure, and improves blood sugar levels for diabetics. It is also effective in treating and reducing the risk of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI’s).

The Rapid Fill Reservoir allows the tub to be filled quickly and minimizes wait time before entering the bath. The adjustable flow valve and whirlpool feature keep surface water splashing to a minimum as well. This helps decrease agitation and fright for Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients, among others. The bath tub promotes comfort, dignity, and privacy along with a trained professional to assist as needed.
