In-County Transportation
Transportation within the Oceana County is provided through the bus transportation program. This program is available to all residents of Oceana County. It is funded through the county wide millage, the Michigan Department of Transportation, Senior Resources and passenger donations.
The prices shown for senior citizens are suggested donations. We kindly ask you to donate towards our transporation costs if you can afford to do so. However, no senior will be denied transportation due to failure to donate towards transportation cost.
Seniors and the handicapped receive first priority in order to receive support services, reduce isolation and promote independent living. Out-of-County Transportation
The OCCOA also provides volunteer driving transportation for seniors (age 60+) who need transportation to and from medical appointments outside of Oceana County. Those rides aren't provided by our buses and bus drivers, but by our volunteer drivers in their private cars or by paratransit for wheelchair recipients only. All call-ins to schedule a ride must be done at least 2 business days in advance.
The cost for this service is $0.25 per mile. The paratransit service cost is $12.00 per hour from the time you get picked up at home until you are returned home after your medical appointment.
